Corrib Canoe Courses is a fun and friendly way to learn to kayak right in the middle of Galway city.
Celebrating its 30th birthday this year, Corrib Canoe is offering a full range of courses for summer 2014 including week long courses for juniors and adults, along with half day trips and taster sessions for all those who want to give kayaking a go this year.
Based in Fisheries Field opposite the cathedral, Corrib Canoe has been providing generations of kayakers with their first steps into the sport, with current lead instructor Barry Loughnane first taking to the water with Corrib Canoe back in 2002. The courses cater for beginners taking their first strokes in a kayak to the more experienced wanting to improve their skills with expert coaching and tuition.
Half day and taster sessions are available now with week long courses kicking off on June 30 running each week for seven weeks this summer. Junior courses run from 10am to 12.15pm and 2pm to 4.15pm Monday to Friday, while adult courses run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm Monday to Thursday with an optional Irish Canoe Union Level 2 Kayak Skills Assessment on the Friday.
Corrib Canoe provide everything you need, as well as expert tuition from its fully qualified Canoeing Ireland Instructors. Courses are price at €90 and can be booked online at www.corribcanoe.com or by calling 085 2111571.
