We Banjo Three - The Essential Songs Playlist

Folk, bluegrass, and trad from Galway quartet

WE BANJO Three, a quartet made of two pairs of brothers, have become something of a phenomenon in the folk/trad world, especially these last six months, which has seen them nominated for an award and play Latin America.

The band - Martin and David Howley and Enda and Fergal Schaill - have released two albums to date, The Roots Of The Banjo Tree and Gather The Good (launched as part of the recent Galway Sessions Festival ); been nominatedfor the Best Newcomer category in the Songlines Magazine Awards; played the Banco de La Republica festival in Columbia.

Next stop is their Galway International Arts Festival gig in Monroe’s Live on Wednesday July 23 at 8pm. To whet your appetite, the Galway Advertiser, as part of our Essential Songs Playlist, presents five of the band's very best moments, for you to listen, watch, and enjoy:
