Four members of the Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Club graded for their 1st Dan Black Belts in kickboxing on Saturday evening, all passing with distinction.
Shane Creaven from Turloughmore has been training at Black Dragon for approximately 10 years, Yvonne Mc Nevin for five years, Joan Kennedy for six years, and Abdulla Smew, who has been training between Galway Black Dragon and Donegal Black Dragon Gyms, for more than 10 years.
Abdulla Smew, who is studying forensic science, is originally from Tripoli in Libya, but has been living in Ireland for most of his life and he now hopes to return home within a year to start the first Black Dragon Kickboxing Club in Libya.
