Rusheen Bay Windsurfing and 37 West café are joining forces to hold a watersports fundraiser for those suffering from cystic fibrosis.
The event, taking place on Sunday June 29 at Rusheen Bay, is part of the Pat Divilly Fitness project to raise €100,000 for local charity. This will be followed by a team of more than 400 people taking part in the adventure race ‘‘Tough Muddler’’ in Dublin later this year.
For the Hit the Water for CF fundraiser, participants can try out sports like windsurfing, stand up paddleboarding, and kayaking, with the Rusheen Bay Team. Afterwards, Gill Carroll of 37 West will be serving up some savoury delights, with music from DJ Byrno.
‘‘We are looking forward to introducing some newcomers to a range of watersports, having some top quality grub on the beach, all while raising money for a great cause.’’ says Danny Mulryan of Rusheen Bay
All equipment will be provided and participants only need to bring swim suits and a towel.
The event is open to all ages and is suitable for beginners. For more information and online booking, visit www.rusheenbay.com
