GALWAY SINGER Diarmuid Scahill has been offered a place at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s training academy, and is staging a concert tomorrow.
Diarmuid, a 23-year-old from Galway city, has been offered a place at the Arts Educational School, London to study a BA in musical theatre. Lloyd Webber is the school’s president.
As the cost of fees over the three years is more than €40,000, Diarmuid has received a part-funded scholarship but he is also appealing for donations.
Tomorrow at 8pm, Diarmuid is hosting a concert, entitled A Night Of Song, in The Cube Theatre, NUI Galway, featuring Judith Sibley; Stephen Macken; World Irish dance champion Claire Greaney; and The Voice of Ireland’s Mariah Butler.
Tickets are €12 and are available on the door or from [email protected].
