ZhOra to bring the progressive-metal

TAKING THEIR name from a character in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, ZhOra play an original, heavy, aggressive, and progressive kind of metal.

Galway will be able to see the band in action when the Tipperary quartet, play The Cellar Bar, Eglinton Street, tomorrow at 9pm.

The band, who cite Mastodon, Sepultura, Queen, and King Crimson as their inspirations, were formed in 2011 and have released the EP Feet Nailed to the Ground and the album Almaz (2013 ), which they describe as “a six-track journey from the inner conscience to the iridescent energy that surrounds us all”. CVLT Nation said it was “a heavy piece of work [with] a strong scent of their colossal and weighty riffing in here as well as cavernous vocals.”

Both releases are available at zhora1.bandcamp.com/music and a second album is planned for next year.

The show is organised by HexenHaus Promotions. Support is from Zylum and Ten Ton Slug. Admission is €3.
