Minors can get Saturday evening off to a positive start

John Donnellan's Galway minors take on Sligo on Saturday (5pm ) in Markievicz Park as a curtainraiser to the senior clash.

Donnellan's management team includes PJ Kelly, Seamus Burke and Enda Daly, who have put in considerable work over the past few months to have the side in good shape for the Connacht championship.

The team is captained by Corofin's Colin Daly and Paul Mannion (Kilconly ) is vice captain.

The squad will be looking to good performances and leadership from Michael Daly and Colm Mannion (Mountbellew/Moylough ), Niall Daly (Kilconly ), Seán Andy Kelly (Leitir Móir ) and Peter Cooke (Moycullen ).

Donnellan has urged the Galway supporters travelling to Sligo on Saturday to arrive to support the minors too.

"We have a fantastic bunch of lads who have worked really hard over the past few months. They have done everything we have asked of them and, if they perform as we know they can, we will produce a winning display."

" We are not taking anything for granted. It is all about the lads going out and playing to their potential, and producing a performance that they will be proud of."
