Honda tops major study on perceived quality

When it comes to value, perception is reality. And a study of more than 30,000 new car buyers has shown that Honda is perceived to deliver the highest quality vehicles for mainstream car buyers. The results are courtesy of ALG, a global leader in forecasting future automotive values, which announced the results of its 2014 Brand Perception of Quality study.

Honda received the highest ratings from respondents on quality, beating rivals such as Toyota and Volkswagen in the study. The win is the latest in a series of awards for Honda highlighting the quality and dependability of their vehicles.

Two major surveys from What Car? and KBB.com recently named Honda the ‘Most Trusted’ car maker, while the Honda Jazz was recently crowned the ‘Most Reliable’ car in the influential Driver Power Survey 2014.

“When consumers buy a car, brand perception directly impacts how quickly the vehicle will depreciate,” said Larry Dominique, president of ALG. “Many consumers lack any real experience with the brand, so there is often a gulf between perception and reality. When deciding on a car purchase, consumers need to consider more than just build quality – they need to consider how the brand is perceived in the marketplace.”

Adrian Cole, managing director of Universal Honda Ltd, commented: “This year has seen Honda win many awards for quality, reliability and trust, and what we are most proud of is that these awards have been given to us based on the experiences and views of actual motorists and customers. This award from ALG represents the views of over 30,000 drivers, and clearly shows the high esteem in which they hold Honda vehicles.”

Honda is hosting its Honda Challenge open events at dealerships nationwide for the July 142 registration plate. During the events, Honda is promoting its Earth Dreams Technology models which offer award-winning real-world fuel economy, along with a range of affordable PCP finance plans, meaning a new Honda can be driven away from €199 per month.
