Roscommon Sports Partnership are pleased to announce that the Monksland Community Summer Camps will be returning this year. There is a sports camp and an arts and crafts camp, which will run consecutively from June 30 to July 4, beginning at 10am and finishing at 1pm. The camps cater for children aged 6-13 years. There is a small cost at €15 for one child, €25 for two, and €35 for three, for the sports camp, while the price for arts and crafts is slightly more.

A registration night will be held on Wednesday June 11 from 7-8.30pm in Monksland Community Centre and all parents who wish to book a place for their child or children are strongly encouraged to attend on this night, as places are limited.

The outdoor sports camp will be held at the Monksland football pitches. This camp will focus on sport and physical activity with fun games and activities, races, rounders, parachute games, soccer, GAA, and more throughout the week. The children will be divided into groups according to their age. This camp enables children of all abilities and backgrounds to come together for a fun-filled week, to make friends, build self-esteem, and improve their skills. The activities provide an opportunity for children to not only develop their individual skills but also to improve their social skills through group work.

The indoor arts and crafts camp will be held in the Monksland Community Centre, where a variety of activities will be offered and masterpieces will be created.

The camps are a fantastic way for children to spend a week of their summer holidays. The sports camp is being coordinated by Sarah Mulligan of Roscommon Sports Partnership. Call (090 ) 6630853 for details. The arts and crafts camp is led by Annette Curley of Monksland Community Ltd.

Children are free to come on the Tuesday if they have to miss the first day.
