New chairman of Croí

The heart and stroke charity Croí has announced Kevin O’Reilly as its new chairman.

A businessman with Beechdale Consulting, Galway, O’Reilly has been appointed as chairman following the retirement of professor Kieran Daly, a consultant cardiologist who has served as chairman of the organisation for the past five years.

O’Reilly, originally from Tuam and a board member since 2011, has been involved with Croí for many years when as director of human resources with Boston Scientific in Galway he was responsible for establishing strong local corporate support for the organisation.

‘‘It’s an honour for me to contribute to the great work of Croí as chairman,’’ says O’Reilly. ‘‘Croí continues to contribute enormously to the needs of our communities throughout the region in relation to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and obesity, and we are helping thousands of people every year to live longer healthier lives.’’
