The Spanish Institute will run week long summer courses this year, starting in June and running until the end of July. There will be courses available for teenagers, as well as children aged four to 12. The courses combine learning practical Spanish with fun games and activities. The qualified, native, Spanish teachers have extensive experience teaching children and young people.
The camps will take place in the institute’s study centre, which is located in the heart of Galway city and utilises the most up-to-date teaching technology. The Spanish Institute provides a welcoming and friendly environment in which students can learn in an interactive way that suits them.
The Spanish Institute, previously known as The Language Institute, has been teaching languages in Galway city for the last seven years and has recently decided to focus exclusively on Spanish. Since its launch at the end of April, the institute has begun a new term of Spanish courses, including Saturday classes for children. The institute has found that there is a demand for courses for children and that parents are recognising the advantage that having a second language can give a child. Along with the obvious academic advantage, there are also plenty of other benefits that language learning can provide. Summer camps at the Spanish Institute are designed to be both educational and fun, to introduce students to language learning in the most positive way possible. The courses for teenagers can be either for beginners or students with some previous experience learning Spanish, and can serve as a fun way to prepare for future study or exams, such as the Junior or Leaving Certificate.
