McSavage and Irrera for Róisín Dubh

DOM IRRERA and David McSavage will headline separate shows at the Róisín Dubh, with the Irishman closing the month of May and the American starting June.

McSavage, writer and star of the hit TV show The Savage Eye, will present his new show Don’t Give Up this Monday at 8pm.

Mario Rosenstock said of him: “He makes me jealous sometimes because he kind of goes to areas that, in a sense, I am forbidden from going to. He says an awful lot of things that I would love to say and can’t. He takes an awful lot of risks.”

As an actor, McSavage features in the film Calvary. His other recent film roles were in Gold and Our Robot Overlords.

Irrera will play the Róisín on Wednesday June 4 at 8.30pm. His comedy blends a regular-guy presence, well crafted jokes and routines, a relaxed and effortless delivery, laced with an array of colourful characters and voices, as well as one-man sketches and bursts of improv.

He has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. He has also appeared in US TV comedies such as Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, and King of Queens. He also enjoyed a cameo in the Coen Brother’s The Big Lebowski.

Support is from Mike Wilmot and Barry Murphy.

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
