Seven new councillors were returned to City Hall in last weekend’s local elections, including three Sinn Féin candidates, the party’s best performance in the city in living memory.
The council has been expanded to 18 seats and below we list the new Galway City Council, the first preference vote of each councillor, their combined total vote, and the best quotes uttered during the count.
Galway City West - six seats. Quota - 1,229
