Rabbitte to ensure voice of Portumna is heard

Galway County Council’s newest councilor Anne Rabbitte has vowed to ensure that the voice of Portumna is heard in the council chambers.

The first time Fianna Fáil candidate made the comments following her election in count four for the Loughrea electoral area. Rabbitte received 47 transfers to bring her over the finish line with a total of 1,840 votes, 34 votes over the quota of 1,806.

The financial advisor and mother of three said her priorities as an elected representative for the next five years will include getting more amenities for Portumna and highlighting issues such as tourism, childcare, and public health.
