Feeney "humbled" by re-election

Athenry and Oranmore will be the focus of development for the next five years, says Cllr Peter Feeney who was re-elected to Galway County Council earlier today.

At the count centre at Bailey Allen, NUI Galway, Cllr Feeney explained how Athenry and Oranmore will be a growth area in the coming years and there is a need to manage that growth so that it does not diminish standards of living. Cllr Feeney noted that the hundreds of acres of IDA and council land, the new motorway, high quality broadband and gas, as well as the building of new schools in the area will ensure it is the “cockpit of development for the next five years”.
