Biodiversity gathering in Rinville Park

A celebratory gathering to promote Biodiversity Day will take place in Galway on Sunday May 25 from 2pm to 5pm.

The event, which will include woodland walks, pond-dipping, seed-planting, nature arts and crafts, and face painting, will be held in Rinville Park, Oranmore,

There will also be a bird walk and talk with special guest John Lusby from Birdwatch Ireland at 3pm, and members of Conservation Volunteers Galway will lead some pond-dipping at 4pm.

Local nature groups will be on hand with information about the wildlife in County Galway, traditional crafts, and nature-friendly living.

All events are free of charge and open to the public, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

The meeting place for all events is the picnic area by the playground.

The event is organised by Galway County Biodiversity Action Plan and supported by the Galway County Council, the Galway City Council, Conservation Volunteers Galway, the Heritage Council, NUI Galway, and Oranmore Tidy Towns.
