ASTRALNAUT, THE Armagh stoner metal band will launch their new EP, the wonderfully entitled Thieves, Beggars and Swine, in Galway this weekend.
The quintet play The Cellar Bar this Saturday at 9pm at a gig organised by HexenHaus Promotions.
Inspired by Black Sabbath and Kyuss, Astralnaut’s sound mixes doom, sludge, stoner metal, fuzz rock, grunge, space rock, and progressive metal. Their lyrics deal with self-belief, delusion, war, the environment, media, and ancient spirituality.
Thieves, Beggars and Swine is Astralnaut’s fourth release to date, and was described by Terrorizer magazine as “a solid set of top notch jams, which might well be their most assured and confident sounding material to date”. The EP is available at Astralnaut’s bandcamp site.
Support is from local bands Fires of Babylon and Weed Priest. Admission is €3.
