Council to receive €30,000 for Rinville Park enhancement

The Galway County Council is to get just over €30,000 under a Public Area Enhancement Scheme to develop Rinville Park, according to Labour candidate for the Athenry/Oranmore electoral area Madge Dean.

It is understood the funding will be spent on tree planting and the enhancement and provision of walking routes.

Welcoming the funding, Ms Dean said: “This funding will give the local community a chance to show its best face for the coming tourist season. This fantastic amenity will now be developed further.

"The Public Area Enhancement Scheme was announced in March and following the receipt of specific proposals from local authorities, details of the local projects have been approved. This funding will help the local authority and local community groups work closely together to improve the visual appearance of our local area, and to make Oranmore more attractive for tourists and residents alike.”
