Dr Eva Orsmond is a medical doctor from Finland who came to live in Ireland approximately 12 years ago. She founded Orsmond Clinics in 2001 to pursue her interest in weight loss and nutrition and she is now a leading expert in her field.
A regular contributor to professional publications, Dr Orsmond also engages with the public to promote understanding of the consequences of being overweight, appearing on a number of television and radio programmes including Prime Time, The Saturday Night Show, The Late Late Show, Off the Rails, Exposé, The Afternoon Show, The Marian Finucane Show, The Ray D’Arcy Show, and The Mooney Show. She is probably best known for her role as the diet and nutrition expert on RTE’s hugely popular Operation Transformation, which she held for six years.
Dr Orsmond’s first book The Last Diet was published and launched in January 2011 and her second book 10LB Diet was released in December 2013. Both books are available in leading bookshops.
Dr Orsmond currently has a number of clinics nationwide. She has a clinic in Oranmore, Co Galway, two clinics in Dublin — one in Loughlinstown, Dublin 18, and one in Baggot Street in the city centre — and her latest clinic opened earlier this year in Kilkenny.
Considered a leading expert in her field, Dr Orsmond remains Ireland’s sole private medical practitioner exclusively treating overweight and obesity in adults and children.
