The first Loughrea flea market will take place in Temperance Hall in Loughrea from 8pm to 10pm today.
Pre-owned clothing, accessories, shoes, toys, books, and household items will be on offer from stall-holders.
A raffle will be held on the night with prizes donated from local Loughrea businesses, including McInerney SuperValu, and Guna Deas.
Also featuring on the night will be the ‘‘Oriental Princess’’ outfit by St Bridgid’s Vocational School which was recently a finalist in the Junk Kouture competition.
The event is being organised by Loughrea Tidy Towns in association with Galway County Council to promote waste minimisation.
A spokesperson for Loughrea Tidy Towns said; ‘‘We are very excited about the event. Waste minimisation is not just about household waste; it is about finding a new home or a new use for your pre-loved clothing, furniture, or toys. Over thirty stalls already, and with free entry on the night, we are expecting a big crowd.’’
