Meath auction house to sell French antiques without reserve

Following the recent deaths of an elderly French couple who had retired to Ireland, Matthews auctioneers of Oldcastle, Co Meath, has been instructed by the executors to sell the contents of their home without reserve.

Comprising approximately 150 lots of antiques, these items will be included in the company’s May 13 auction in Oldcastle next Tuesday. Also included in this auction will be more than 400 other lots consigned from the four corners of Ireland, including a rare and complete first edition in good condition of Slippers ABC of Hunting.
