Jes and St Enda’s in first year football final today

St Enda’s and Coláiste Iognáid (The Jes ) will compete today for the first year C Connacht Colleges’ trophy at Pearse Stadium (12.30pm ).

Both sides have had good championship campaigns, with St Enda’s narrowly defeating Calasanctius College, Oranmore, in their semi-final, and The Jes overcoming a talented Coláiste Na Coiribe team en route to today’s decider.

An interesting feature of today’s game will be the number of players from the same clubs who will be competing for both teams.

St Enda’s will be looking to Tom Considine (Salthill/Knocknacarra ), Brian Harlowe (St Michael’s ) and Tom O’Connor (Moycullen ), while The Jes will want big performances from Joe Thompson (S/K ), Cian Gilroy (St James ), Dara Golden, Niall Rooney and Cillian Cleary (Barna ) and Evan Kenny (Moycullen ).
