Don Wycherley to start in After Sarah Miles

DON WYCHERLEY, one of Ireland’s foremost actors, will take to the stage in After Sarah Miles, which comes to Galway from Monday May 19 to Thursday 22.

Gallarus Productions will stage the play, written and directed by Michael Hilliard Mulcahy, in Druid’s Mick Lally Theatre in Druid Lane.

After a lifetime wrestling with the tides, Fisherman Bobeen (Wycherley ), finds it hard to face the sea now, but something he discovered in the mouth of the harbour more than 30 years ago is calling him back. This time it will connect him to what he feared was lost and gone forever.

After Sarah Miles, which was first staged in Dublin last year, has won great critical acclaim, with the Sunday Independent calling it “a lilting wonder...pure art perfection”; the Sunday Business Post said it was “a poignant tale in which Wycherley weaves a compelling spell”; while the Sunday Times declared it “never downbeat, compelling, tender, and lots of fun”.

Doors are at 8pm. For more information see www.gallarusproductions.com
