MICHAEL FRANTI & Spearhead believe “all the freaky people make the beauty of the world!” and they intend to show Galway why this month.
Michael Franti, the San Francisco based singer-songwriter, guitarist, and philanthropist, whose music combines hip-hop, folk, soul, r’n’b, world, and pure pop, plays Strange Brew at the Róisín Dubh on Thursday May 8 at 8pm.
The show is the opening date of his current tour to promote the release of his forthcoming album, All People, the artist’s 10th, which is out on June 2.
Michael came to prominence through such singles as ‘Say Hey (I Love You )’ which has sold more than two million downloads, and through the albums Sound Of The Sunshine and Songs from The Front Porch.
Michael sees music as a force to inspire and uplift the spirit, and a means to get the feet moving. The band’s live shows have won acclaim for the communal spirit they create, and Michael bringing down the barrier between the performers and the audience.
Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
