Clear the clutter for Simon

Following the success of last year’s Big, Big Clear Out, the Galway Simon Community is inviting Galwegians to once more to bring unwanted clean clothes, shoes, accessories, linens and good quality homewares to Joyce’s Supermarket car park in Knocknacarra.

This event will take place during the May Day bank holiday weekend on Saturday May 3 between 10am and 8pm, and on Sunday and Monday May 4 and 5 between 12 noon and 6pm.

Organised by Niall McNelis in association with the Sea Scouts, and sponsored by Joyce’s Supermarket and SSL Transport, the big clear out hopes to raise money from the sale of the goods donated in each of the Simon shops to support people in the west of Ireland who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Currently the community provides accommodation for more than 100 men and women, and Galway Simon is urging Galwegians to clear out their garages and attics to help support this local charity.

Electrical or broken items, toys, large furniture items, beds and baby goods cannot be accepted.
