Leah Tiernan from Knocknacarra has been crowned Miss Galway 2014.
Leah is a fashion graduate from GTI Galway, and currently works in Pia Boutique.
Wearing a backless red gown, Leah was presented with her Miss Galway 2014 crown and sash, along with a bouquet of flowers sponsored by Happy Days Florist.
The event took place at Coyotes Late Bar where 18 contestants took to the catwalk and were interviewed on- stage by MC Declan Gardiner. This year, the judging panel consisted of Mandy Maher, Lauragh Quinn, Alan Quin, Sophie Small, April Fitzgibbon, and Martina Fallon.
Leah, who takes over from Miss Galway 2013, Laura Fox, has won a modelling contract with CatwalkModelling Agency, a year of personal fitness training with Alan Quin Fitness, makeup application for events and discounts at Million Dollar Secrets, hair styling for events at Redcats Hair Salon, and a photoshoot with Julia Dunin Photography.
The first and second runners-up were Tanya O’Brien from Loughrea and Nuala Gorham from Carna, who go through to the Wild Card semi-final in Dublin on July 6, which will give them a second chance to be re-entered into the Miss Ireland National Beauty Pageant, July 9.
