Wordhaus - marathons, footie, and music

NORTH POLE marathons, underground Irish music, and poems about football will all feature in the third Wordhaus event on Wednesday April 23 at 6.45pm.

Wordhaus, a showcase of pioneering craft, ideas, and ventures in the Bierhaus bar, will feature Ray Cuddihy, a broadcaster, puppeteer, and founder of Wingnut Records; and Keith Wallace, the founder of the independent record label Rusted Rail, described by An Taobh Tuathail’s Cian Ó Cíobháin as a “weird-beard alt-folk boutique label”.

Also on the bill is Richard Donovan in conversation with basketball coach and Bierhaus owner, Jack Considine. Richard was the first person to run a marathon at both the North and South poles and holds the current world record for running marathons on all seven continents - four days, 22 hours, and three minutes.

Elaine Cosgrove is the host. There will be a pop-up display of poems about football.

Admission is free and all are welcome. See www.wordhausnightgalway.tumblr.com
