One Day International @ Róisín Dubh

DESPITE BEING named after a type of cricket match, none of the members of the highly promising Irish band One Day International is actually interested in cricket.

The band is Tasmania’s Matt Lunson (vocals ), Cormac Curran (piano ), Danny Snow (bass ), Ross Turner (drums ), and Eimear O’Grady (cello ) and another interesting fact about them is that they do not feature a guitarist - something extremely rare in rock.

One Day International however play intelligent, melodic, atmospheric songs - with perhaps a touch of quiet Radiohead and they can be seen in the Róisín Dubh for Strange Brew on Thursday January 15 at 9pm.

Admission is free. In the meantime check out their well received debut album Blackbird (Independent Records ).
