A touch of Nashville at The Crane

NASHVILLE IS the home of country music, and one of that city’s most respected producers Jim Rooney is returning to his second home of Galway to play a show at The Crane Bar, Sea Road.

Jim Rooney will be joined by Arty McGlynn and Mick Daly for an evening of country, bluegrass, and traditional music at The Crane, on Thursday January 15 at 9pm.

Rooney has been producing records in Nashville for the past 25 years. Many of his recordings with Nanci Griffith, John Prine, Iris DeMent, and Tom Paxton have been nominated for Grammys, with Griffith’s Other Voices, Other Rooms winning a Grammy in 1996. In Ireland he is best known for his work with Sean Keane and the Lee Valley String Band.

Arty McGlynn is one of Ireland’s leading guitarists and producers. He has played with Van Morrison, Liam O’Flynn, Frances Black, and Sean Keane.

Mick Daly has played an important part in many of Ireland’s best known groups including 4 Men & A Dog, Any Old Time, and the Lee Valley String Band.
