JUDY COLLINS, the legendary British singer, best known for her interpretations of Leonard Cohen, is an admirer of Irishman Scott Maher.
“I feel something special, unique and very different about you,” she told the singer-songwriter. “This is beautiful music – amazing arrangements and you sing like an angel.”
It is not only Collins who has been impressed. In Dublin has called his voice “sublime”, while The Irish Times has praised his music’s “classic sounding hooks”. Galwegians will have a chance to see why when Scott plays upstairs in the Róisín Dubh tomorrow from 8pm.
Admission is €10. Check out his albums, Cartoon Moon (2005 ) and 21 Bends (2009 ).
