Pedal power — are you up for a challenge?

Voices for Down Syndrome Galway in partnership with Salthill- Knocknacarra GAA presents an extravaganza of cycling across Galway city and county on Saturday April 26 2014, consisting of three circuits:

— 144km Western Lakes and Atlantic Challenge

This early season challenge is not for the faint hearted. Departing Salthill-Knocknacarra GAA Clubhouse @ 9am the cycle will circumvent Lough Corrib in an anticlockwise direction taking in Headford, Cross, Cong, Clonbur, Finny, traversing the challenging Lough Nafooey climb (Maamtrasna Mountain ), Maam Bridge, Maam

Cross, Scríob, Casla, Baile na hAbhann, An Spidéal, Bearna and return to Salthill-Knocknacarra GAA Clubhouse. Food stops will be provided at Clonbur and Casla. Support vehicles will be in attendance on the day.

— 45km Charity leisure cycle

Departing Salthill- Knocknacarra GAA Clubhouse @ 11.30am, the route takes in Moycullen, An Spidéal, Bearna and returns to Salthill- Knocknacarra GAA Clubhouse via Salthill village. Refreshments will be available at An Spidéal.

— 3.5km Tour de Salthill - family fun cycle

This is a fun cycle for children and families, designed to get families active together through. Participants under the age of 16 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Entry to family cycle is free. We encourage all participants to raise or donate funds to support the work of Voices for Down Syndrome Galway and the juvenile section of Salthill-Knocknacarra GAA Club.
