The GAA has recently confirmed the membership of a new committee to examine the state of hurling and to draft proposals to ensure the continued health of the game.
Two former Galway hurling and camogie stars, Ollie Canning and Veronica Curtin, are on the group which is to be chaired by former All-Ireland winning Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy.
The full terms of reference will be drawn up shortly.
