McNelis calls on businesses to sponsor flowerboxes to show off floral city

Galway city businesses are being asked to sponsor flower boxes that will be in place across the city from early May to the end of October.

Niall McNelis, the chair of the Galway City Tidy Towns, and a Labour councillor in Galway City West, has written to businesses in the Latin Quarter, the West End Traders, Wood Quay businesses, the Galway City Business Association, the Galway Chamber of Commerce, and Salthill Traders seeking their support for the flowerboxes.

Boxes will cost €100 each and will have a sign saying it was sponsored by a particular business.

“These boxes are an extra addition for the city centre and Salthill,” said Cllr McNelis, “and will complement the ones placed by Galway City Council.”
