The Galway footballers produced a real mish-mash of a performance last Sunday in their league game with Louth.
They were 1-5 to 0-3 behind at the small whistle after a lethargic first-half performance, but they produced a sterling second half effort that saw them lead by four points and look the more likely winners going into the home stretch.
However they allowed Paddy Keenan to get in for a late goal to hand the impetus back to Louth and it took a late Seán Armstrong point to rescue a draw.
Despite only getting one league point when it looked more likely that two were coming west, all is not lost.
If Alan Mulholland's team can defeat Armagh on Sunday week at Pearse Stadium, they still have a chance of avoiding relegation to division three, if other results go their way in round seven. However, no permutations will be needed unless Armagh are beaten.
