BY THE time 2009 comes around we may find ourselves - thanks to the recession - back in a 1980s timewarp. The 1980s in Ireland were grim, but the music was fun and colourful, providing some kind of distraction.
So if you want to relive the good side of the 1980s, then the Here & Now show at the Royal Castlebar Theatre on Friday January 2 is the place to be. On the night there will be performances from Bananarama (‘Ain’t What You Do’, ‘Really Saying Something’, ‘I Heard A Rumour’, and ‘Venus’ ); Carol Decker/T’Pau (‘China In Your Hand’ ); Paul Young (‘Wherever I Lay My Hat’, ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ ), Belinda Carlisle (‘Circle In The Sand, ‘Heaven Is A Place’ ); Bucks Fizz (‘The Land Of Make Believe’, ‘My Camera Never Lies’, and ‘Making Your Mind Up’ ); and Cutting Crew (‘I Just Died in Your Arms’ ).
