David Burke’s cycling tour reaches Monroe’s Live

IRISH SINGER-songwriter David Burke is seeking to play 32 shows across the 32 counties in 32 days, all on his bicycle.

The Kildare musician will be bicycling to Galway to play a free show Monroe’s Live on Saturday March 15 at 9pm, where he will play songs from his debut album, Where Colours Swim, which was recently named RTÉ Radio One’s ‘Album of the Week’.

Regarding the cycling tour, where did the idea come from? “I wanted to throw some extra adventure into the mix so I decided to travel the whole trip by bicycle,” David says. “It’s the same vibe as Forrest Gump’s random trek - there’s an open invitation to anybody that wants to join in along the way. If you fancy grabbing a rusty ol’ pushbike for one of the trips; then the more the merrier!”
