ANDREW MAXWELL and Des Bishop, two of Ireland’s greatest comics, bring their new stand-up shows to the Róisín Dubh this month.
Des’s Coming Home chronicles the Irish-American’s year in the People’s Republic of China, and his experiences’ working in a restaurant; trying to find a wife in a ‘marriage park’; and journeys with Leo, his co-worker from his Abrakebabra days. He will also talk about what he missed in Ireland - democracy, milk, and sarcasm.
While the Sunday March 9 show is sold out, there are still tickets left for the Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 shows, but get them soon.
Andrew Maxwell’S Banana Kingdom, which enjoyed hit runs at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre, comes to the Róisín on Saturday March 15 and promises to be packed full of fearlessly intelligent topical observations, delivered in Andrew’s animated, outspoken, style.
Doors are at 8pm for both shows. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
