The president of the Olympic Council of Ireland, Mr Pat Hickey, will be a special guest at the Galway Open Judo Tournament this weekend.
The annual competition is being hosted by the Galway Judo Club, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. It will be held on Saturday in the Renmore Sports Complex.
Competitors from clubs throughout Ireland, in addition to entries from Britain and Poland, will be in action which kicks off at 11am. Pat Hickey will present the prizes at 3.30pm.
