A RUSSIAN epic from New York’s Metropolitan Opera and a Berlin production of Bach’s St John Passion will be broadcast live via satellite to The Eye Cinema.
Tomorrow at 6.30pm, Bach’s towering work of devotion, the St John Passion, will be performed by The Berlin Philharmonic in the German capital’s Philharmonic Hall
The orchestra is joined by the Berlin Radio Choir and soloists, Camilla Tilling, Magdelena Kozená, Tope Lehtipuu, Mark Padmore, Roderick Williams, and Christian Geraher.
Then on Saturday, at 5pm, Borodin’s Russian opera, Prince Igor, comes live from New York. Directed by Dmitri Tcherniakiov, this production features Ildar Abdrazokov in the title role. The cast includes Oksana Dyka, Sergey Semishkur, Anita Rachvelishvili, Mikhail Perenko, Vladimir Ognovenko, Kiri Deonarine, Mikhail Vekua, Barbara Dever and Stefan Kocán.
