New exhibition @ 126

An exhibition of new work by Siobhan McGibbon, Ciara Healy, and Karl Musson opens at the 126 Gallery on Flood Street this Saturday at 7pm.

The three artists are recipients of gallery’s 2013 ARTFarm Residency, and the exhibition runs until Sunday March 9.

The sculptures of Roscommon born Siobhan McGibbon have a medical slant, arising from her fascination with extraordinary medical conditions and abnormalities.

Break On Through is the name for the Welsh collaborative duo Ciara Healy and Karl Musson. They focus on researching, developing, and implementing work concerned with notions of periphery, cultural identity, spirituality, story, power, and place from a local and global perspective.

The ARTFarm Residency is a collaboration between 126 and Sheila Flanagan, which allows artists to spend two weeks at the cottage and studio/work space in rural County Galway. 126 is currently planning for the 2014 residency. For more information see www.126.ie.
