THE MUSIC of Mozart, with a little Bach for good measure, will be performed by the Jag Trio at Music For Galway’s annual Emily Anderson Memorial Concert.
The Jag Trio - Jack Liebeck (violin ), Alexander Zemtsov (viola ), and Guy Johnston (cello ) - accompanied by Scottish International Piano Competition winner Tom Poster, will be in the Aula Maxima, NUI Galway, on Friday February 28 at 8pm.
The programme this year will feature Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E flat, K 493; his Divertimento in E flat for string trio, K 563; and his arrangement of Bach’s Preludes and Fugues for string trio.
Emily Anderson was born in 1891 in Galway and studied German in Berlin and Magdeburg. She translated the correspondences of Mozart and Beethoven into English and her translations are still widely studied by musicians, musicologists, and film makers.
