A BUCHAREST matriarch is out to grease more palms than she can shake in order to buy her son’s way out of a hit-and-run conviction.
This is Child’s Pose, the Romanian film which won the Golden Bear at the 2013 Berlin Film Festival and which will be screened by the Galway Film Society in the Town Hall Theatre this Sunday at 8pm.
Co-written by acclaimed scriptwriter Razvan Radulescu (The Death of Mister Lazarescu ), and directed by Calin Peter Netzer, Child’s Pose is a study of human vulnerability and loss, ethical questions, and the Romanian justice system.
