Civic and religious leaders to deliver Christmas messages on Galway Bay FM

Galway’s civic and religious leaders will deliver their Christmas messages on Galway Bay FM on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The 20th annual Christmas messages programme will be broadcast at 6.04pm on Christmas Eve and 1.04pm on Christmas Day, and will feature music from a seven-track CD recorded recently by a group of Galway musicians to raise money for the Western Alzheimer’s Foundation.

The special 45-minute programme will be presented by GBFM head of news Bernadette Prendergast, and her guests this year will be Mayor of Galway Padraig Conneely, Mayor of County Galway Peter Feeney, Bishop of Galway Dr Martin Drennan, Rector of Galway and Provost of Tuam Reverend Patrick Towers, and Presbyterian and Methodist community representative Reverend Clodagh Yambasu.

The programme will take a look back at 2007, and will reflect on Christmases past and present in Galway.
