Mairéad Farrell, the Sinn Féin candidate in Galway City East for the local elections next May, has been elected to the Sinn Féin Ard Comhairle.
Ms Farrell was elected following the AGM of Sinn Féin Cúige Chonnacht held in Sligo recently along with Sinn Féin councillor Martin Kenny from Ballinamore, County Leitrim, and John Sheahan from Swinford, Mayo.
“I am very honoured to have been elected by my peers to serve on the Ard Comhairle,” said Ms Farrell. “I look forward to the challenge and will work hard to highlight issues affecting people living in Galway city and the west at national level.”
