Titans have extended their winning streak with two more comprehensive victories on the road last weekend.
In Limerick Titans coasted to a 101 - 67 win followed by a 92 - 70 win over the Sligo Allstars the following day. This gives Titans 11 wins in 13 outings, including securing a semi-final berth in the National Cup.
Titans currently are the highest scoring team in the nation, with no less than nine players producing double-digit scores, and now half way through the season, Titans can now take a well deserved rest before travelling to Dublin on January 4 to play against Tolka Rovers, last season's National Cup and League champions. Titans are averaging almost 100 points per game, while limiting their opponents to seventy points or less.
The contest against Sligo was initially challenging as Ian McMorrow produced a fine three-point shooting display, knocking in 22 points in the first half to help keep the local team in contention. Titans produced some fine shooting also from the perimeter with Paulius Peldzius hitting seven three-pointers and creatively off-loading the ball on drives to the hoops to his bigger teammates Paul Freeman and David O'Keefe. Titans moved the ball efficiently against the Sligo zone defence and lead by 14 points at the half. Sligo found renewed hope in the third quarter as Daragh McGarrity found his rhythm and narrowed the gap to 10 points. However Titans were always in control and increased the margin to 22 with Paulius Peldzius top scoring with 31points.
