Young Hearts and the art they create

YOUNG AND elderly Galwegians have joined forces to create an exhibition of artworks that go on display in City Hall next week.

Young Hearts 2014 will be officially opened by the city arts officer, James Harrold, in City Hall, College Road, on Tuesday February 11 at 1pm.

This intergenerational and socially inclusive project will feature ceramics, drawings, and textiles created during art workshops facilitated by Anu Halonen and Ramona Burke. The participants are transition year students from Galway Community College and older adult patrons of Croí na Gaillimhe.

The project is run by Galway educator Maria Moore and is funded by The Maureen O’Connell Bequest and the Area Council of the Society of SVP.

All are welcome to the launch. For more information on Croí na Gaillimhe Resource Centre see croinagaillimhe.blogspot.ie or call 091 - 895203.
