GALWEGIANS AGED between 12 and 19 who love music and write songs are being sought to take part in The Irish Youth Music Awards.
Youth Work Ireland Galway is running a regional heat for the IYMAs at 7pm on Friday February 28 at the Nuns Island Theatre in advance of the national final in April.
Ten acts will be chosen to perform on the night with one act chosen to represent Galway in the final. Each act will perform one original piece and one cover of their choosing. The performers on the night are the judges, each act will receive four votes to cast for their favourite.
Audience tickets will be €2 each with the money going towards supporting the winning act to prepare and attend the national event in Dublin. This is a drug and alcohol free event.
