Galway children to star in new series of Moone Boy

Young Galway actors will be starring alongside Chris O’Dowd in the new series of Moone Boy which is will be shown on Sky next month.

The second season of O’Dowd’s inspired comedy about a young boy and his imaginary friend in late 1980s/early 1990s Ireland will also feature Jessica Barrett, Megan Folan, and Jamie McIntyre. All three children are pupils of Galway city’s Trading Faces Stage School and will play the roles of Majella, Nuala, and Fiachra respectively.

The three are no strangers to acting in front of, or indeed behind, the camera. Jessica wrote and acted in a short film Class Act that was selected and screened in Fresh Film Fest. Megan directed the short film School of Horrors which was screened as part of the Galway Junior Film Fleadh.

Jamie has also worked on two commercials, one for GAA Strings for RTE , and also the Referendum for Children for RTE and TV3. He also appeared in an episode of Sky’s Little Crackers and RTÉ’s Show Off or Get Off.
