More than 450 runners completed Tuam AC’s 10th anniversary road race on Sunday which was won by Paddy Hamilton of Annadale Striders in Belfast with a storming finish.
Hamilton crossed the tape in 24:21 - some two and a half minutes ahead of runner-up Stephen McKeigue of Ferbane (26:56 ), while Fintan Hyland of GCH was third in 27.07.
The first Tuam AC runner to finish was M45 category winner Ian Egan in 29:14, and the first woman home was GCH’s Regina Casey in a dead-on 30 minutes. Second was Colette Tuohy and third Ann Lennon, both of Mayo AC.
A special mention must go to Tuam AC’s Roger Rushe, who just recently celebrated his 75th birthday and who came home in a fantastic 41:53.
