Marmion citing complaint dropped

adquarters in Dublin this afternoon having been yellow carded during Saturday’s Heineken Cup fixture against Saracens.

Prop White was cited by Scottish citing officer Richard McGhee after his boot made contact with the face of Saracens’ Brad Barritt in a ruck. McGhee also cited scrumhalf Kieran Marmion who was alleged to have struck Saracen’s Neil de Kock in the second half. However the complaint against Marmion has been dropped due to a lack of evidence and a statement from de Kock that no contact had been made.

White will be represented at today’s meeting by a member of the Connacht management and a club legal representative. After the match Connacht coach Pat Lam acknowledged that White’s actions had been “reckless” but that there had been “no intent”.

Until Saturday Connacht had an exemplary discipline record in this season’s Heineken Cup without one yellow card.
